Melanie has been with the clinic since 1993. She started as a kennel tech and worked her way up the veterinary ladder. She graduated with honors from the school of hard knocks. She has had the pleasure of owning all sorts of critters including snakes, birds, dogs, cats, rodents and horses. In her lifelong career she has celebrated and mourned many fur kids that she has had the opportunity to help and care for. In her spare time she enjoys running with her dogs and enjoying the outdoors.
Lisa is originally from a suburb of Chicago, IL. Her adventures have taken her to many different places. Lisa has explored a diverse array of professions before pursuing her career in animal care. She graduated with an associate of science and obtained her degree as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician. She had been working in the veterinary field for 15 years. She enjoys gardening, motorcycle rides and of course she and her husband love spending time with their many furry family members.
Vance grew up in a very small town in northern Missouri. After high school he attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri and graduated with a BS in Automotive/Power Technology in 2002. However, after college, he received a commission in the U.S. Army as an Aviation Officer and learned to fly helicopters. After leaving the military he decided to change careers and in May of 2017 he graduated from Maple Woods Vet Tech program. He joined Jackson Animal Clinic in the fall of 2015.
Vance likes to spend time with his wife, Dr. Jenny Whitt, and their 6 kids. He has multiple pets and farm animals running around his small farm in Plattsburg, Missouri. In his spare time Vance enjoys farming and going to Royals games and building things.
Kayla has lived in Platte City since 2008, she just recently moved to Kansas City. She is in her second year of the veterinary technology program at Maple Woods Community college. She has been working at the clinic since 2017. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, playing tennis, sitting at home watching romantic comedies and also doing photography.
Karen was born and raised in the Platte City area and continued living there until moving to Weston 16 years ago after marrying her husband Gary. She has two daughters, a son and one grandson, as well as her own furry family members. She has had her own plethora of animals through the years including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens and chinchillas. In her spare time she loves scrap-booking, gardening, and fishing but most of all spending time with her family. She has been with the clinic since 1995 and loves being part of the office team.
Debie was born and raised in the Platte City area and continued living in Platte City until moving to Camden Point in 1978 when she married her husband Lance. They have one daughter whose name is Alex and many furry family members as well. Debie has been with the clinic since 1993. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and caring for all the chickens, horses, cows, dogs and cats on their farm.
Linda is originally from Nebraska-"Huge Husker Fan"! She has lived in Platte City since 1980, before moving here she had lived in 8 different states from the pacific to the atlantic and the hills of West Virginia. She has 3 children and many of her own fur babies. Linda loves reading, gardening and baking- and we love that she loves to bake because she shares all of her goodies with us.
Hannah currently lives in Dearborn. She has been with the clinic since 2015. You will find her behind the front desk a few days a week and she also works in the kennel area making sure our boarders are well taken care of. In her spare time she enjoys working/playing with her livestock and pets, running and spending time with family and friends.
Herlinda is originally from Massachusetts. She recently moved to Platte City and has been a member of our team since March of 2017. She loves working with all the different animals and learning about them. She aspires to become a registered Veterinary Technician in the near future, it's important to her that every animal is healthy, safe and comfortable.
McKenna has lived in Platte City since she has been in grade school. She recently graduated and is now attending Metropolitan Community College. She is still deciding what she wants to be when she grows up. She knows that she would like to do something in a health related field as she loves to help people and animals McKenna has been with Jackson Animal Clinic since 2014, she loves the people and animals that she works with. In her spare time she loves playing with her animals, swimming, and hanging out with family and friends. She has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 fish.
Britanie was born and raised in Missouri with her mom, dad, and older brother. She had always wished for a younger sibling but ended up with a dog instead. Her love for animals began when she was young but sparks really started to fly when she adopted her dog, Chance. Her other pets include a rabbit and a leopard gecko but she has also been an owner of many fish and cats. She is currently attending Maple Woods Community College and hopes to continue her education at a four year university for a major that is currently undecided. Some of her hobbies include reading, art projects, listening to music, and exploring the lovely city of Kansas City. She hopes to one day extend her already accomplished volunteer trip to Nepal and travel the rest of the world to help animals and people in need.
