TECHNICIANS

Melanie Lehmann

Melanie Lehmann, Technician
Melanie has been with the clinic since 1993.  She started as a kennel tech and worked her way up the veterinary ladder.  She graduated with honors from the school of hard knocks.  She has had the pleasure of owning all sorts of critters including snakes, birds, dogs, cats, rodents and horses.  In her lifelong career she has celebrated and mourned many fur kids that she has had the opportunity to help and care for.  In her spare time she enjoys running with her dogs and enjoying the outdoors.

Lisa Schelinski

Lisa Schelinski, technician
Lisa is originally from a suburb of Chicago, IL.  Her adventures have taken her to many different places.  Lisa has explored a diverse array of professions before pursuing her career in animal care.  She graduated with an associate of science and obtained her degree as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician.  She had been working in the veterinary field for 15 years.  She enjoys gardening, motorcycle rides and of course she and her husband love spending time with their many furry family members.

Kayla Rowe

Kayla Rowe, technician
Kayla has lived in Platte City since 2008, she just recently moved to Kansas City.  She graduated in  May of 2018 from MCC Veterinary Technology Program and earned her license as a RVT in August 2018.  She has been working at the clinic since 2017.  In her free time she enjoys painting, going fishing and hanging out with her fiance. She enjoys taking pictures of the outdoors, and has recently gotten into doing photo shoots with couple/kids.

RECEPTIONIST

Karen McDonald

Karen McDonald, receptionist
Karen was born and raised in the Platte City area and continued living there until moving to Weston 16 years ago after marrying her husband Gary.  She has two daughters, a son and one grandson, as well as her own furry family members.  She has had her own plethora of animals through the years including dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters, chickens and chinchillas. In her spare time she loves scrap-booking, gardening, and fishing but most of all spending time with her family.  She has been with the clinic since 1995 and loves being part of the office team.

Debie Asher

Debie Asher, receptionist
Debie was born and raised in the Platte City area and continued living in Platte City until moving to Camden Point in 1978 when she married her husband Lance.  They have one daughter whose name is Alex and many furry family members as well.  Debie has been with the clinic since 1993.  In her spare time she enjoys gardening and caring for all the chickens, horses, cows, dogs and cats on their farm.

Linda Taylor

Linda Taylor, receptionist
Linda is originally from Nebraska-"Huge Husker Fan"!  She has lived in Platte City since 1980, before moving here she had lived in 8 different states from the pacific to the atlantic and the hills of West Virginia.  She has 3 children and many of her own fur babies.  Linda loves reading, gardening and baking- and we love that she loves to bake because she shares all of her goodies with us.

KENNEL TECHS

Hannah Anderson

Hannah Anderson, receptionist
Hannah currently lives in Dearborn.  She has been with the clinic since 2015. You will find her behind the front desk a few days a week and she also works in the kennel area making sure our boarders are well taken care of.  In her spare time she enjoys working/playing with her livestock and pets, running and spending time with family and friends.

Grace Harkness

Grace was raised in the small town of Algoma, Mississippi.  She moved to Camden Point, Missouri in 2011 and began her work at Jackson Animal Clinic in 2016.  Throughout her life she has been constantly surrounded by animals, which has given her a passion to work with them!  Grace spends most of her time in the kennel area taking care of people's pets.  Outside of work, her days consist of fostering animals, playing with her dogs and raising reptiles.  Her plans for the future are to either work with wildlife or become a groomer.

Cora Holdsworth

Cora was raised in Paradise, Missouri along with her 5 siblings of which she is the youngest.   She is an alumni of the Smithville FFA Chapter and the Platte County 4-H club.  Cora graduated from Smithville High School in 2014, Metropolitan Community College in 2016, and is currently enrolled in the accredited online Veterinary Technology Program through Penn Foster.  She has worked in the veterinary field since she was 15 years old, working with both companion and large animals.  She enjoys working on large animals, especially horses.  Cora is no stranger to the equine world, she has competed in rodeos, NBHA races, and has a small side business giving horseback riding lessons.  Cora's companions include a Quarter horse name Roscoe Meyer and a blue heeler name Cinch.  She has been with Jackson Animal Clinic since June of 2018.

GROOMER
Linda Fisher

Linda Fisher, groomer
Linda is a Montana native.  She grew up in Missoula and went to the University of Montana.  She has lived coast to coast with the military.  Linda has a son who is a Lt Colonel in the Marine Corps and a daughter that is a Business Analyst and accountant for a multi business corporation.  She has 4 grandson's and 1 great granddaughter.  She has worked in veterinary clinics and groomed since 1971.  She has showed dogs, horses and cats as well as raising exotic birds and fancy pheasants and also fed and tamed parrots for resale.  Linda has also kept bobcats, a cougar, African servals, wolves, and raccoons.  She ventured into raising Himalayan's and Persian cats and still raises and shows them today.  She has finished 96 Grand Champions, 6 National Winners, 1 Best of the Best, 1 Reserve Best of Best at the International Shows and also won Cat of the year for the world.  In her spare time she enjoys riding Harley's and has ridden 100,00 miles in 44 states and 1200 in the UK. She also does custom machine embroidery on the side and raises orchids and loves to garden outside.  Linda has been with Jackson Animal Clinic for 29 years.
